We take pride in our herd of safe, healthy, and happy horses! We treat all of our animals (and our guests) like family and want you to get to know our wonderful horses!

Masca Chicle
Age: 9
Breed: Thoroughbred
Gender: Mare
Masca Chicle's name means "chewing gum" and was Erika's nickname, too. Erika's father used it to name the mare when NEC got her at just 3 days old! Masca Chicle is Erika's spirit horse with plenty of spice.

Black Onyx
Age: 17
Breed: Puerto Rican Thoroughbred
Gender: Gelding
Black Onyx originally came to Nevis for racing when he was 4 years old, but he's been part of the NEC family for years. He certainly has his own mind when it comes to food - he loves to eat!

La Puente
Age: 17
Breed: Puerto Rican Thoroughbred
Gender: Gelding
La Puente's name translates to "bridge" and he came to Nevis when he was 4 years old to race. Erika helped him get over a traumatic dog attack and she holds him close to her heart. She lovingly refers to him as her "handsome prince."

Hawk
Age: 20
Breed: local St. Kitts-bred
Gender: Gelding
Handsome Hawk was named after his previous owner and plays a big part in NEC's family of horses as he is also Bertico's father!

Baby Boy
Age: 20
Breed: Thoroughbred
Gender: Gelding
Baby Boy came to NEC via Puerto Rico when he was 2 years old. He never raced in Nevis until recently, and has made quite a name for himself! He is gentle giant that all of Erika's students want to ride.

Emile J
Age: 18
Breed: Kentucky-bred Thoroughbred
Gender: Gelding
Emile J came to Nevis via Puerto Rico when he was 5 years old for racing. Erika calls him her "water horse" because he loves going into the sea! He is also her father's personal horse.

Little Princess
Age: 18
Breed: local St. Kitts-bred
Gender: Mare
Little Princess has a big belly because of how much water she loves to drink! She's very sweet and also a little sassy, and we think she's perfect just the way she is.

Axle
Age: 3
Breed: local St. Kitts-bred
Gender: Stallion
Axle was bred in St. Kitts and arrived on Nevis in 2025. Don't let the fact that he's a stallion fool you - he's the sweetest little thing there is and will be part of NEC's breeding program!

Two Socks
Age: 5
Breed: Unknown
Gender: Gelding
Two Socks was born in Ecuador but arrived at NEC on Nevis via St. Kitts. He's a quiet, "all work and not much play" reliable type of horse. He is very sweet and very well mannered!

Bertico
Age: 10
Breed: Thoroughbred/local Nevis-bred
Gender: Gelding
Bertico was born in Nevis and is named for a former NEC employee. Bertico and his father, Hawk, came to NEC in 2017 from an ex-race owner, also named Hawk!
