Our beach and trail riding tour in Nevis is a ride you will remember for a lifetime!

Itinerary

Our most popular ride, beach and trail, begins by leading us to one of the many secluded beaches on Nevis. Along the way, we pass Nelson’s Spring, a beautiful lagoon where clipper ships once filled up with fresh drinking water.

We continue through Calhoun Estate where we see Brahma cattle and in the distance, St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, the oldest active Anglican Church in the Caribbean (1643). Looking south you will see Paradise Beach Nevis, a stunning 5 star luxury villa resort. We turn towards the beach after crossing the Lower Round Road built circa 1690. We turn south on Paradise Beach which is a turtle nesting beach.

We turn east and slowly climb the mountain slope to Paradise Estate where we see ruins of a sugar mill and then ride past a typical Nevisian cedar shingle home out of the 19th century. We continue on through the village of ‘Cotton Ground’ which derives its name from the production of cotton in years past. The people of this village are warm and friendly and you don’t want to forget the name of your horse because the young children, who know the horses, will question you as to which one you are riding.

We recommend you wear pants or shorts that you can sit comfortably in with your bathing suit underneath, and closed toed shoes. Don’t forget to pack your sunglasses and a towel!

Reservations required – on line bookings require a credit card deposit – VISA & MasterCard or PayPal
Hotel guests may book through Concierge Services (hotel fees may apply) or direct with NEC
Weight limit of rider 230 – 250 lbs. based upon availability of horses
For safety, group rides operate at the level of the least experienced i.e. if beginners are in the group, rides will be ‘walk’ only (strictly enforced)
Helmets are available and mandatory for riders ages 17 and under

Ride Schedule

Standard Ride Schedule: Daily 9:00 am and 4:00 pm (special requests will be honored for St. Kitts cruise ship passengers)
Sunset Ride Schedule: Between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm, depending on season.

Cancellation Policy

When reservations are made for horseback riding, there is preparation work that must be done before each ride including grooming, hoof care, and saddling. Additionally, on weekends/holidays, some employees work on an overtime basis to prepare for a ride. Consequently, there are some costs involved in preparing for a ride. Therefore, we have a cancellation policy for reservations which is uniform for all hotels, plantations inns, guest houses and cruise ships.

Cancellations for morning rides must be made by 9 p.m. the previous evening for no penalty by CALLING +1 (869) 662-9118. Cancellations made after 9 p.m. will be charged 50% of the fee. No shows are charged 100% of the fee.
Cancellations for afternoon rides must be made by 9 a.m. the same day for no penalty by CALLING +1 (869) 662-9118. Cancellations made after 9 a.m. will be charged 50% of the fee. No shows will be charged 100%.
If a guest cancels within one hour of the start time for the ride, it will be treated as a No Show, and the guest will be charged 100% of the fee.
If a guest is ill, we will depend upon you to make that determination for no penalty.
If a cruise ship asks us to reserve spaces for riders for a particular day and time and the riders do not show up for that ride, we will charge the ship the full price for the ride. We understand that sometimes ships cannot communicate with land-based phones depending on their location. We will try to be as understanding as possible in these situations regarding cancellations.
